Judge says arrest of Quanell X legal.

A judge decided Monday that police had sufficient reason to believe civil rights organizer Quanell X was trying to evade arrest earlier this month as he was bringing a shooting suspect to the police station for surrender. Quanell X maintains that he thought the police were surrounding his car with lights and sirens as a form of official escort to the downtown police station, where he was expected to bring the fugitive. In a courtroom packed with activists including several young men wearing military-style New Black Panther Party uniforms, prosecutors showed a police video of Quanell X driving a black Hummer in front of a patrol car, with its police lights and sirens activated, for more than a mile. Quanell X was arrested June 11 as he attempted to turn in Derrick Forney. Forney was wanted for the shooting of a Houston police officer. [more]

Have been following the news releases by Quanell X and sent an E-mail to him but have still not received a reply. All I requested was that he crawl down off his podium, put on a pair of Law Enforcement shoes,team up with a Law Officer(nationality of his choice) and let him go out on patrol in some of the districts that have the worst trouble. Untill he is put in the position of making a split second decision that involves life or death such as someone pointing a gun at you or coming at you with a knife will he really know what to preach about. Could be the man with the gun takes place at night and after hes taken down the gun turns out to be a BB gun or the knife turns out to be a rubber knife. Would he take the time to walk up to that individual and ask if he could inspect the weapon to make sure its real or play. Don't think so. I am not Law Enforcement but ex military from the Korean War era. I have been in situations that I hope I never get in again,In closing , all I can say is untill you critics of the Polce, walk the walk they have to and then if you feel you have to preach, get up on your podium and give it hell.

Several days ago I watched a news report on TV showing Quannel X at a news conference with the parents of the young men that vandalized their high school, placing it out of the circle for the beginning of the school year. As of yet I have not heard any preaching, any indignation, any comment about this act of vandalisim I can now see that Quannel X is practicing the same type of lawlesness that he has
been preaching against. Talk about a man talking out of both sides of his mouth. He picks the side to talk out of depending on the situation.Whats the word for that. HYPOCRITE

just finished watching 11 news. i saw how blacks from houston on ntheir way to thr jena 6 rally were stopped in a small town called woodworth in la. they were stopped for speeding...in which they were not and told their driver's liscence were suspended...which they were not!!! their cars were impounded and taken in a tow truck a few miles to a conveinence store and told to get out and left on side of the road....

I am from the South Park-Sunnyside area. It is a predominately black neighborhood, but there is a Mc Donalds on the corner of OST and Scott where it is very busy and on several visits there I have yet to see one single Black employee! The staff is all Hispanic. Go by and check it out.
