TX Law Will Make All Cops Enforce Immigration Law & Target Any Non-Whites They Suspect of Being illegal

From [HERE] On September 1 in Texas, SB 4 will take effect. And on that day, all law enforcement across the state will be immediately transformed from police officers into something much different.

“SB 4 says that every local police officer, sheriff, and mayor throughout Texas now needs to enforce immigration law,” according to Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project. And these public servants have every incentive to comply with the law, he notes, because SB 4 “imposes fines in the tens of thousands of dollars, jail time, and even removal from office for violations of law.”

The fear of losing their jobs is palpable among police officers. “I’m worried because my career … it could end,” says Officer Edgar Garcia of the El Cenizo Police Department. “We can be penalized or even … they’ll give us jail time.”

The penalties combined with the very nature of the law, Gelernt explains, will further erode the trust between the police and the communities they serve. This is for two predictable reasons. Police will undoubtedly racially profile Hispanic or Latino people — communities that make up nearly 40 percent of the state’s population. And they will improperly apply the law for fear of being seen as weak on immigration enforcement.

Officer Garcia agrees. “I want to be out here … making people feel safe,” he says. “I don’t want them to feel afraid.”

But under SB 4, they will be.

At a time when there’s a lack of confidence in policing and immigrants are under attack from the highest offices of state and federal government, SB 4 is a terrible law. But it’s also patently unconstitutional, which is why the ACLU, the ACLU of Texas, and cities and counties across the state are currently challenging it in federal court. We expect a decision before September 1, when SB 4 goes into effect.

Stay tuned.

Immigration Cops inside schools Spying on Latino Kids? Activists are warning students about Trump Policy

From [HEREOne student exchanged hand gestures with a classmate in the school hallway. Another drew graffiti in his notebook. A third wore a Chicago Bulls T-shirt.

School authorities on Long Island, New York, accused the teenagers of displaying signs or symbols associated with a notorious street gang with close ties to Central America. They were suspended, and several of the students were arrested. But before the charges were substantiated — even before appeals of their suspensions were complete — the students were shipped off to detention facilities thousands of miles from home, without their parents’ knowledge.

Not because of gang activity — which has yet to be proved in court — but because of immigration status.

How teenagers with no criminal convictions ended up in the hands of federal authorities is the subject of a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union. It’s also a troubling example of how President Trump’s wide-ranging executive order to ramp up immigration enforcement may be giving federal immigration authorities a stronger foothold in America’s schools.

As many as 20,000 police officers are stationed inside American schools to help maintain safety. Called school resource officers, they are employed by local police or sheriff’s agencies and historically have few ties to immigration authorities. But Trump’s immigration order, signed in January, revives a decades-old program that trains local law enforcement officials in immigration enforcement and deputizes them with federal authority.

Since some of these newly empowered police departments also deploy officers in schools, attorneys and civil rights activists say school resource officers can easily become a conduit for personal information about students and their families, such as undocumented status, that is supposed to be protected under federal student privacy laws.

Immigration arrests have increased 38 percent since Trump took office. Though just 60 law enforcement agencies currently participate in the immigration enforcement program, according to ICE, that number has nearly doubled since January. Interviews with officials at participating local agencies show that about half assign officers to schools, including in Maryland, Arizona, and South Carolina.

On Long Island, where police are battling the brutal street gang MS-13 — an effort applauded by President Trump in a visit last month — attorney Bryan Johnson said that innocent teenagers at Brentwood High School have been swept up after educators shared student disciplinary records with school resource officers from the Suffolk County Police Department, which has a partnership with federal officials to crack down on gang violence. Schools, he said, “can have a pretty strong educated guess” as to a family’s immigration status, and because the schools provide the information, immigration officials know where students live. More than 75 percent of students at the high school are Hispanic.

Felix Adeyeye, a spokesman for Brentwood Union Free School District, said that “it’s preposterous” to think educators share student records with school resource officers. Suffolk County doesn’t have a federal immigration enforcement agreement, but attorneys pointed to other avenues for cooperation, including a gang task force and informal deals.

Research on Redlining reaffirms Role of Govt in shaping racial disparities in housing, credit & wealth accumulation

From [NYTimes] The appraiser who went to Brooklyn in the 1930s to assess Bedford-Stuyvesant for the government summarized the neighborhood’s prospects on a single page. Many brownstones in “obsolescence and poor upkeep.” Clerks, laborers and merchants lived there, about 30 percent of them foreign-born, Jews and Irish mostly.

Also, this: “Colored infiltration a definitely adverse influence on neighborhood desirability.”

The government-sponsored Home Owners’ Loan Corporation drew a line around Bedford-Stuyvesant on a map, colored the area red and gave it a “D,” the worst grade possible, denoting a hazardous place to underwrite mortgages.

Lines like these, drawn in cities across the country to separate “hazardous” and “declining” from “desirable” and “best,” codified patterns of racial segregation and disparities in access to credit. Now economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, analyzing data from recently digitized copies of those maps, show that the consequences lasted for decades.

As recently as 2010, they find, differences in the level of racial segregation, homeownership rates, home values and credit scores were still apparent where these boundaries were drawn.

“Did the creation of these maps actually influence the development of urban neighborhoods over the course of the 20th century to now?” said Bhash Mazumder, one of the Fed researchers, along with Daniel Aaronson and Daniel Hartley. “That was our primary question.”

The economists now believe that appraisers like the one in Bedford-Stuyvesant weren’t merely identifying disparities that already existed in the 1930s, and that were likely to worsen anyway. The lines they helped draw, based in large part on the belief that the presence of blacks and other minorities would undermine property values, altered what would happen in these communities for years to come. Maps alone didn’t create segregated and unequal cities today. But the role they played was pivotal.

The maps became self-fulfilling prophesies, as “hazardous” neighborhoods — “redlined” ones — were starved of investment and deteriorated further in ways that most likely also fed white flight and rising racial segregation. These neighborhood classifications were later used by the Veterans Administration and the Federal Housing Administration to decide who was worthy of home loans at a time when homeownership was rapidly expanding in postwar America.

All Racists are Liars: CIA Claims to Have ‘Accidentally’ Destroyed a 6,700-Page Senate Torture Report [of non-whites]

From [MintPress] The CIA inspector general’s office has said it “mistakenly” destroyed its only copy of a comprehensive Senate torture report, despite lawyers for the Justice Department assuring a federal judge that copies of the documents were being preserved.

The erasure of the document by the spy agency’s internal watchdog was deemed an “inadvertent” foul-up by the inspector general, according to Yahoo News.

One intelligence community source told Yahoo News, which first reported the development, that last summer CIA inspector general officials deleted an uploaded computer file with the report and then accidentally destroyed a disk that also contained the document.

The 6,700-page report contains thousands of secret files about the CIA’s use of “enhanced” interrogation methods, including waterboarding, sleep deprivation and other aggressive interrogation techniques at “black site” prisons overseas.

The full version of the report remains classified, but a 500-page executive summary was released to the public in 2014.

Christoper R. Sharpley, the CIA’s acting inspector general (CIA IG), alerted the Senate intelligence panel that his office’s copy of the report had vanished in August.

Neanderthal Equality: White Man is Executed [Murdered by Gov] for Murdering a Black Man in FLA - 1st time in 30 yrs

From [NyTimes] Mark James Asay, 53, was executed Thursday for what prosecutors called the racially motivated shooting of two men in Jacksonville three decades ago.

He became the first white man to be put to death for killing a black man since the state restored capital punishment in the 1970s, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.

Mr. Asay’s death by lethal injection is a landmark in other ways: It was the first time the drug, etomidate — part of a cocktail — was used in the United States for an execution, and the first execution since the Florida Legislature began requiring a unanimous jury recommendation.

Jurors in Mr. Asay’s case, which was decided before the legislative action, voted 9-3 for the death penalty.

“This was a case where the system failed in so many ways and on so many levels to get to the truth of what happened,” said Martin McClain, Mr. Asay’s lawyer, who had worked to get the United States Supreme Court to review the case.

In 1988, Mr. Asay was sentenced to death for the murders of Robert Lee Booker, 34, a black man, and Robert McDowell, 26, later identified as white and Hispanic, who dressed as a woman.

Prosecutors argued that Mr. Asay was a white supremacist who killed the men because of their race. The shootings were hours apart in downtown Jacksonville. Since the conviction, the victims’ families said they had been waiting for justice.

“I could have been fishing with him. I could have been hunting, something,” Frank Booker told the Jacksonville television station FirstCoastNews of his brother. “But due to circumstances I won’t be able to do that with him.” He added: “Why would we let someone who has killed two people under first degree, under racism, still be here on this earth?” [lol. NAACP [Doesn't Get White Supremacy] Wants Meeting w/NFL Over Kaepernick [He Has Been Filtered Out. Gone]

You can't change anything that you don't understand [MORE]. Neely Fuller explained "If you don't understand racism/white supremacy, everything else that you think you understand will only confuse you." [MORE] and [MORE] and [MORE]

Any act or attitude on the part of Blacks which appears to White Americans to defy White American authority, control or dominance is a problem to white folks.' [MORE]  In all areas of people activity, elite whites quickly filter out Blacks not controlled by the crowd but handsomely reward those most effectively programmed for their own destruction.

Let's be clear. Speaking out against acts of bigotry or the already unlawful use of excessive force by police is really not a radical thing to do. Kaepernick took a risk and gambled his career when he spoke about 'a system of racism, one that systematically rewards police for murdering Blacks & Latinos.' [MORE] and [MORE]. [And It was a big risk b/c he is far from being an NFL superstar.] When he did that he had to go. Any non-white person who works for a Government, a media outlet, major corporation, utility, learning institution, court system, major non-profit etc., who names and challenges the system of racism/white supremacy will be filtered out. He knew that ["only the gamblers know what life is"]. Now he is gone. He has been disappeared. Maybe he will play in Madden. That is the context you are in. Would the NAACP have the courage to take a similar gamble? NO way.

National Association for the Advancement of Confused People. [Beggar politics flattering to racists. So that's how it works? ...give Goodell a call, meet with him, tell him whats up & tell a team to hire Kap? Black people need to wake up from their fantasy and self realize they have no power. Stop dialing 911. Racism/white supremacy is a system of vast unequal power between whites & Blacks. How can we begin to neutralize this power?

From [HERE] The NAACP's interim president Derrick Johnson has officially requested a formal meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss NFL players and their ability to exercise their First Amendment rights.

According to a letter sent to the league by the NAACP, the meeting will specifically focus on Kaepernick's perceived "blackballing" by the league in light of his protests last season. It also questions the silencing of NFL players' platforms, citing Tommie Smith and John Carlos's black power salute at the 1968 Olympics, among other examples.

Kaepernick's lack of a job has raised many eyebrows throughout the offseason, particularly with the quarterbacks being signed ahead of him. Johnson penned a concern regarding Kaepernick's First Amendment rights and also strongly insinuated that his protest was the sole cause of him not being signed. An excerpt of the letter reads:

Last season, Mr. Kaepernick chose to exercise his First Amendment rights by protesting the inequitable treatment of people of color in America. By quietly taking a knee during the national anthem, he was able to shine a light on the many injustices, particularly, the disproportionate occurrences of police misconduct toward communities of color. As outlined in your office's public statement, this act of dissent is well within the National Football League's stated bylaws. Yet, as the NFL season quickly approaches, Mr. Kaepernick has spent an unprecedented amount of time as a free agent, and it is becoming increasingly apparent that this is no sheer coincidence.

"No player should be victimized and discriminated against because of his exercise of free speech -- to do so is in violation of his rights under the Constitution and the NFL's own regulations.

Judge Blocks Further Implementation of Texas' Racist voter ID law: Ruled Discriminatory for 5th Time

From [HERE] A federal judge in Corpus Christi blocked further implementation of Texas' controversial voter identification law, after finding  for a second time that it intentionally discriminates against minorities.

In a court order Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos blocked Texas from implementing portions of the 2011 voter ID law, which was considered to be one of the strictest in the country. And in a striking blow to the state, she blocked entirely a revamp to the law that the Texas Legislature passed earlier this year as Senate Bill 5. The legislation was an effort to appease Ramos and do away with the finding of discriminatory intent.

"Even if such a turning back of the clock were possible, the provisions of SB 5 fall short of mitigating the discriminatory provisions of SB 14," Ramos wrote. The original voter ID bill was passed as Senate Bill 14.

Ramos had previously ruled in 2014 that the law was purposefully discriminatory, but that ruling was appealed to the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. The appeals court ruled that the law had discriminatory effects, but asked Ramos to reconsider her ruling that it was drawn up with discriminatory intent.

In April, Ramos reaffirmed that ruling, saying the law violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination, as well as the 14th and 15th amendments.

In all, Texas' voter ID law has been ruled discriminatory five times -- four times by Ramos and once by the 5th Circuit.

Election Criminal Kobach Discarded 3X as Many [non-white] Votes in Kansas as any similarly sized state

Election Hoax. From [HERE] A conservative firebrand promoting President Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud oversees a Kansas election system that threw out at least three times as many ballots as any similarly sized state did, fueling concerns about massive voter suppression should its practices become the national standard.

Only six states — all among the top 10 in population — discarded more votes during the 2016 election than the 33rd-largest state of Kansas, according to data collected by the bipartisan U.S. Election Assistance Commission, a federal agency that certifies voting systems. Kansas’ 13,717 rejected ballots even topped the 13,461 from Florida, which has about seven times as many residents.

Critics of Kansas’ election system argue its unusually high number of discarded ballots reflects policies shaped over several elections that have resulted in many legitimate voters being kept off voter rolls in an effort to crack down on a few illegitimate ones.

There is particular attention on Kansas now because its secretary of state, Kris Kobach, is co-chairman of Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. The architect of strict election policies requiring voter ID and proof of citizenship, Kobach has suggested Kansas’ rules could become a national panacea for voter fraud, which Trump — without providing proof — blames for Hillary Clinton’s popular vote victory.

“It is somewhat ironic that (Kobach) is claiming to really care about the integrity of voter rolls when this suggests that there may be a real problem that Kansas has with keeping voter rolls up to date,” said Wendy Weiser, director of the Brennan Center for Justice’s Democracy Program.

Kansas Elections Director Bryan Caskey argues it is difficult to compare states because their election laws differ and that Kansas officials are actually more aggressive than other states at getting ballots in the hands of would-be voters.

“I am understandably a little defensive about it because our routine is that if you walk in the door you get a ballot,” Caskey said. “… Even if there is no way that ballot is going to count, to at least give us a chance to do a little research to see if we can count it, and many states don’t do that.”

Under federal law, almost all states are required to hand out a provisional ballot to anyone who shows up at a polling place but isn’t listed on the voter rolls. The purpose of provisional ballots is to preserve the ballot until a voter’s eligibility is determined and alert officials of a breakdown in election administration, so Weiser argues a high number of them could be “a red flag that something is quite wrong.”

Jason Kander, the former Democratic secretary of state in neighboring Missouri, says it’s “not at all true” that poll workers in Kansas hand out provisional ballots to voters who would’ve been turned away in other states. He argues most election officials are aggressive about handing out regular ballots whenever possible because the provisional ones can be thrown out for something as small as a sloppy signature.

Missouri discarded 3,803 ballots in November — about a quarter of Kansas’ total. Kansas gave out 40,872 provisional ballots, compared to 5,511 for Missouri.

“Secretary Kobach uses every trick that he can to make it as hard as possible for eligible voters to cast a ballot — whether it is unconstitutional legislation, targeting immigrants or forcing more eligible voters to use provisional ballots,” said Kander, president of Let America Vote, a voting rights advocacy group. “He is on a crusade to stop people from voting and now the president of the United States has given him a bigger platform.”

Voting Hoax: New Indiana Law Uses Interstate Crosscheck to Delete Non-White Votary

Trump victory margin in Michigan:                    13,107

Trump victory margin in Arizona:                       85,257

  • Arizona Crosscheck purge list:                           270,824

Trump victory margin in North Carolina:        177,008

  • North Carolina Crosscheck purge list:              589,393 [MORE] and [MORE]

From [HERE] The NAACP and League of Women Voters sued Wednesday to challenge a new Indiana law that immediately strikes a voter from the rolls if a computer program matches their name to a voter in another state.

Indiana lawmakers recently passed Senate Bill 442, which makes amendments to the state’s procedure for maintaining its voter rolls. The law took effect July 1.

Previously, the state submitted its voter roll to the national Crosscheck program, received a list of Indiana voters possibly registered in other states, and sent those voters an address confirmation notice.

But the new law removes the notification step, and immediately eliminates voters from the roll if they are flagged as a duplicate by the computer program.

The Indiana State Conference of the NAACP and the League of Women Voters of Indiana sued Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson and the directors of the state’s Election Division over the change on Wednesday.

“This action is necessary to protect the sacred right of Indiana residents to vote without interference and to prevent the unlawful removal of Indiana residents from the state’s voter registration rolls,” according to the complaint filed in Indianapolis federal court.

Jim Crow Law in NH Requires Tax forms, Leases or Affidavit to Vote or Pretend Like You Participate in Democracy

No voter fraud in New Hampshire, But High Turnout of Non-Whites Must Be Stopped. ”From [HERE] Filing suit Wednesday over the first voter-suppression law in New Hampshire, state Democrats say the legislation is a ham-fisted response to President Donald Trump’s loss there last year.

Signed into law last month by Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, Senate Bill 3 tightens the state’s definition of domicile for voting purposes by requiring those who register to vote near the date of the election to provide paperwork proving that they intend to live where they register.

If voters don’t have evidence of residency, including tax forms or leases, they can sign an affidavit and later bring the paperwork to local officials within 10 days. Failure to do so can result in officials visiting the voter’s address, fines up to $5,000 and prosecution for voter fraud. Republican lawmakers claim the bill will deter voter fraud and does not deny anyone the right to vote.

For the New Hampshire Democratic Party, however, the true objective is to disenfranchise college students in the state, who tend to vote Democrat, as well as other low-income and minority groups. “Historically,” according to the complaint, “New Hampshire has … virtually no voter fraud.”

What it does have is high voter turnout, something the 2016 election bore out. Wednesday’s complaint notes that the state had the third highest voter turnout in the nation, with 11 percent of the total votes cast coming from voters who registered on Election Day alone.

Who Was that SNiggering BOHICAN Propped Up Behind Trump Promoting the Ongoing Smiling Face?

BOHICAN means "Bend Over Here It Comes Again Negro." One who is the final token. Above Maurice Woodside, step & fetchit at the same time. The old saying still holds true: "The value of a dollar, will never, ever drop as low as the standards of some miseducated self-hating Negroes to obtain it." [FUNKTIONARY]

Trump Continues to Play Black People. From [HERE] PERFECTLY POSITIONED in the crowd behind Donald Trump in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday night, as the president falsely claimed that he had not defended white supremacists, was a coin-operated Negro waving a “Blacks for Trump” sign and wearing a T-shirt that read: “Trump & Republicans Are Not Racist.”

The man, who was born Maurice Woodside but now goes by the name “Michael the Black Man,” was seated in the second row of the bleachers behind the podium, where he could be seen on television throughout Trump’s address. Woodside is a SNigger

Although it is unclear if he traveled cross-country from his home in Miami on his own initiative, Woodside told a radio station in Chicago that he “wasn’t placed there.” He did, however, play a key role in the spectacle, roaring with approval as the president blamed the media for casting him as a racist after his remarks in defense of white supremacists who rallied in Charlottesville, Virginia last weekend. Not placed there? This SNigger was a potted plant! He was arranged and put there like furniture, his t-shirt, sign and minstrel act was entertaining to racists, like watching Kevin Hart w/ the sound off. Now would be a good time to review the definitions of SNigger & SNiggering in FUNKTIONARY:

SNigger ---a sold-out snitching-smiling Sambo-Negro. 2) a South-Bender offender. SNiggers smile for nothing except an empty mind while selling-out their own kind. They typically have an intellectual base yet are devoid of intelligence, thus promoting the on-going smiling face. They also often giggle and have a frivolous conception of society and scant knowledge of the vestiges of the trans-Atlantic slave trade that even brought their sorry-ass selves to shore. SNiggers are traitors and pawns of the downpressors. [MORE

sniggering - 1) the modus vivendi of opportunist (sell-out) compromises. 2) the actions of SNiggers. (See Coin-Operated).

Sambo - a self-loathing Negro lacking self-knowledge. "A willing slave gets upset if you refuse to acknowledge his or her master.

Like Trump's other SNiggers this man is also crazy, literally suffering from a severe case of mentacide and delusion.

shenanigger Omarosa Manigault, White House Step & Fetchit Coordinator.

Black proxymoronic probot programmed in service of white supremacy. [MORE]

Coin-operated SNiggers "Diamond & Silk." Paid for operatives for racist asshole president. [MORE]

If Trump’s staff did play a role in securing a spot for Woodside at center-stage, however, they seem to have overlooked the fact that he holds some very bizarre beliefs about race, including a theory that the Senate is controlled by a secret underground of “Cherokee Mormons.”

That idea, and a number of other confounding claims based on highly eccentric readings of scripture that point to a global race war, are developed at length in rambling, anti-Semitic sermons Woodside has posted on YouTube and Facebook and collected on the two websites displayed on his sign and T-shirt: BlacksforTrump2020.com and Gods2.com. His sign at Trump’s rally directed viewers to the former site.

Provocative President Praises Arizona Sheriff Who Targeted & Detained People Based on Skin Color

Racism is conduct designed to provoke you and racists are the most provocative people in the world. Racism is one of the most powerful motivating forces in the universe. [MORE] Yet it has no substance and is pure nonsense.

Here, magician Trump attempted to provoke YOU and at the same time he tapped into the force of racism to motivate his believers in Arizona. He goes on deceiving those who want to be deceived and deluding himself at the same time. Osho explains;

"The ego can try to influence, then it feels good, dominating, but remember that the ego also feels good being dominated. The masters feel good because so many slaves are dominated, and the slaves also feel good being dominated.

There are two types of mind in the world: the mind of those who dominate - the male mind, and the mind of those who like to be dominated - the female mind. By female I don't mean women, or by male, men. There are women who have masculine minds and there are men who have feminine minds. They are not always the same.

These are the two types of mind: one which likes to dominate and one which likes to be dominated. In both ways ego is fulfilled because whether you dominate or are dominated YOU are important. If someone dominates you, then too you are important, because his domination depends on you. Without you, where will he be? Without you, where will his kingdom be, his domination, his possession? Without you, he will be nobody.

Ego is fulfilled at both the extremes, only in the middle does ego die. Don't be dominated and don't try to dominate." [MORE]

Chomsky: Antifa [costumed clowns fucking around] Bringing Violence & Playing into the Alt-Right’s Hands

Which one is Kid & Play at the same time? Stop Trippin. No one has time for your ideological BULLSHIT. Deluded Antifa “activist” harass a Black man for being a “Nazi” for simply walking near their demonstration.

From [MintPress] On August 12th, New York Times writer Sheryl Gay Stolberg found herself heavily berated on social media for her reporting on the recent violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. Stolberg, however, had done nothing to buoy the case for the white nationalist or racist elements in motion that day. Her “crime” was instead to suggest that “the hard left seemed as hate-filled as the alt-right” during demonstrations that claimed one life and injured dozens more.

While Stolberg may have been maligned for casting a critical eye on the “hard left,” particularly the controversial group “Antifa,” she is now in good company, as legendary progressive and noted academic Noam Chomsky has also raised concerns regarding the tactics of Antifa and similar groups.

In an interview with the Washington Examiner published last Thursday, Chomsky called Antifa a “minuscule fringe of the Left,” adding that “what they do is often wrong in principle – like blocking talks – and [the movement] is generally self-destructive.” He continued: “When confrontation shifts to the arena of violence, it’s the toughest and most brutal who win – and we know who that is. That’s quite apart from the opportunity costs – the loss of the opportunity for education, organizing and serious and constructive activism.”

Essentially, Chomsky condemned the group, which characterizes itself as “defensive” in nature, for its violent tactics. Most notably, however, he opined that the group is counter-productive to those who aim to support progressive policies and oppose racism — stating that Antifa is a “major gift to the Right, including the militant Right, who are exuberant.”

Beyond Chomsky, very few progressives have spoken out against Antifa. One of the few condemnations in the progressive press comes from writer Nicholas Goroff who argued in a piece for Occupy that the Antifa movement is in many ways antithetical to progressive values.

Goroff writes: “Awash in 20th century Marxist doctrine, the presence of Antifa, and the left’s tolerance of them within their ranks, stands as a rejection of the civil enlightenment values liberals and progressives once stood for, and a slow embrace of the authoritarian orthodoxy which throughout the 20th century so often gave the left its bad name to begin with.”

Other writers, prior to Chomsky’s interview, had suggested that the “militant Right” were well aware that Antifa’s penchant for violence could be twisted to their advantage. As journalist Michael Brendan Dougherty noted in an article for the National Review: “The rally organizers came prepared for violence, and they wanted it. They wanted footage of themselves getting punched and maced so that they could use conservative antipathy to Antifa to erode conservative antipathy to actual Fascists.”

Despite a sympathetic mainstream press, Antifa’s tactics are proving progressives like Chomsky and Goroff correct, as they are revealing themselves to have more in common with authoritarianism than with the progressive values they purport to stand for.
