The Dominican Community Human Rights League issued a
letter to Attorney General John Aschroft and to Gov. Sila Calderon
requesting them to investigate the case of a convicted Dominican
citizen who was killed in June. Group spokesman, Saul Perez, said
fellow countryman Delby Rodriguez Breton died under "suspicious"
circumstances at Las Cucharas prison complex of Ponce after being
sentenced to 171 years in prison for murder. Perez said that a sworn
statement proves that Rodriguez Brenton did not murder Puerto Rican
Luca Guerra Valle on June 2, 1996. [more]
