Paycheck advance lender starts voter registration drive

Advance America, a paycheck advance lender, has
kicked off a voter registration drive - and touched off criticism.
Advance America launched the program Tuesday in Spartanburg with
Carolina Panther Stephen Davis as the effort's spokesman for the
Register in Advance campaign. Organizers hope to register more than
50,000 voters in time for the November elections. In 2002, the company
