• Justice Department  Statements  that Padilla planned  to Blow up  an apartment building or  Detonate a "dirty bomb"
  are  unproven  assertions that were  gleaned  from 2 years of interrogating Padilla  without the presence of an 
  attorney.
• Since June 2002 the DOD has held Padilla as an "enemy combatant" on a naval brig in South Carolina.
• Padilla  has   NOT been charged with any crime and has not been allowed to  communicate  with anyone (including his lawyer until recently)
• Federal  courts have repeatedly ruled that the Bush administration's detention of Padilla is  illegal.
• Although  the  document released by the Justice Deparment on Tuesday used the language "Padilla   admitted" or "according  to Padilla", in the SAME  document the  government  acknowledges that Padilla DENIES nearly everything the  Justice Department  claims he admits.
