Latest police shooting angers Black residents in Charleston

The shooting of a 15-year-old boy by North Charleston police officers has left many people in the Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood angry and frustrated at what they said is an out-of-control police department. "There was no need for deadly force," said Lakeisha Lawson, an eyewitness to the shooting. "They didn't have to shoot him." After the shooting, police accompanied by dogs broke up an angry crowd and arrested the teen's mother. Police said the shooting was justified because the teen threatened officers. The teenager led officers on a high-speed chase through the Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood in a stolen truck, police said. According to reports, police only used their weapons after the teen twice tried to run down officers. The teen later was treated and released from the Medical University of South Carolina. [more]

I can identify with the anger the Blacks are feeling in Charleston, a similar incident has happen in Charles County Maryland just the past week to a young black man (Jonathan Lyles). My heart is feeling fear because now they are harrasing my nephew Antwan Lyles. Antwan and Jonathan are in a wrap group called familio (which means family). Can yall hear me please give some ideas or help. This town is not use to standing up for themselves against the police.

I am just trying to get a message out there because I know the people in need of help. Please Charleston PRAY, becauses you know how they do us. I don't want Antwan to be next. Satain is so slick. He will use any police he can and some don't need Satain they just do things on their own.

For generations and generations Charles County Maryland Police has gone unnoticed for its ability to harras and get away with doing Blacks as they please. On March 18 Jonathan Lyles was shot and killed by Charles County Police. Finally the black people of this town are tired of the police doing what they want to them. Please reach out and help these people.
