In the face of consistently declining crime rates, especially in the past few years, Governments and racists have been struggling to justify the militarization of police and the high cost of police budgets. Racists have been selling 'the fear of Blacks' to whites for decades to justify treating Blacks criminally. High crime was part of this old order [that many racists and mentacidal Blacks still cling to]. High crime was also indirectly used to justify the original crime, that is ongoing. The vested interests now are in search of a new basis to justify over policed, heavily surveilled Black & Brown communities.  Remember we pay for their protection. With no crime around, its beginning to look like a farm or plantation to those who have eyes to see things as they really are. 

From [HERE] The District's Black probot mayor and racist suspect police chief came together on Tuesday to announce a reduction in the number of robberies across the city. Two years ago, a robbery task force was formed and since that time, D.C. officials say robberies have dropped by 33 percent.

There are now 7,600 new electronic eyes out there, paid for by the D.C. surveillance camera rebate program. [what will all the bored criminals do now?? The police are referring to private cameras owned by citizen and businesses that were added to a network of police, public works, Metro bus and subway and Homeland security cameras to enable voyeuristic Government rulers [sevants] to watch Latinos & Black folks go back and forth.] 

D.C. also announced it is adding more cops to the payroll. [MORE]

"I cannot tell you how valuable it has been for us on the Metropolitan Police Department to have these cameras capturing suspects involved in this type of behavior," says Chief Newsham. Mayor Bowser says she believes the city is the safest it's ever been in her lifetime. But she knows even one robbery is too many, like the one that ended Zaire Kelly's life. [How would a camera or the task force have stopped that tragic event?]

The white chief and his Black sidekick mayor presented no empirical evidence to support their claims and did not describe what scientific research methods if any was used to come up with their 'cameras and our task force stopped crimes and lowered the crime rate' hypothesis. But facts are never necessary when you have belief and a media controlled by elite corporate whites. 

According to actual data in a preliminary analysis of crime data from the nation’s 30 largest cities released by the Brennan Center for Justice crime has been declining for decades. In fact, according to the center’s overview of crime and murder data, in 2017, D.C. is on pace to have the second-lowest violent crime rate of any year since 1990.

• The overall crime rate is projected to drop by 1.8 percent to the second-lowest point since 1990.
• The violent crime rate is projected to fall by 0.6 percent, also to the second-lowest point in over 25 years. 
• The murder rate is projected to be down 2.5 percent, on-par with the rate in 2009

What is clear from the above data is that people are obeying the law. In fact, in contrast to pervious times, such as the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's, obedience to authority is at record levels. Perhaps this is something more dangerous than a low crime rate. Since those turbulent times of organized protest against authority, powerful elite whites have sought greater control over the public mind. Chomsky explains that elites have used their total control over the media, educational systems and Government to manufacture consent, set the parameters of dissent and engineer opinion and belief to conformity to the rule of elites. In many urban areas you are more likely to witness more sheople driving 10 miles per hour below the speed limit on an empty road than you are to see a crack sale. If Doggy [the vested interests that own the Government & corporations] controls your mind why do they need so many cops & cameras?

The historian Howard Zinn is clear on the role obedience has played on our conditions throughout the centuries. "[Civil disobedience] is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions of people have been killed because of this obedience. ...Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war and cruelty. Our problem is people are obedient while the jails are full with petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem."
