Texas Lawmakers to Look at Possible Minimum Wage Raise

A lot of Texans may be able to look forward to getting a pay raise soon. Lawmakers are considering a bill which would raise the minimum wage in this state from 5-dollars-15-cents to 6-dollars-15-cents an hour.  The Economic Development Committee will hold a hearing on the issue tomorrow.  A number of organizations, including the NAACP, the United Farm Workers and the League of United Latin American Citizens are supporting the bill.  Texas is number three in the country, when it comes to the number of people who are making at or below the minimum wage.
