After allegations against Cosby by a former Temple University executive
were met with shameful skepticism by prosecutors, another woman came
forward this week with an identical story: Cosby gave her pills under
the guise of helping her feel better, and when she was rendered nearly
unconscious, he molested her, she said. "I don't think it's right that
they're going to disregard this woman and her allegations," Tamara
Green said in yesterday's Daily News, explaining why she came forward.
"I feel like they should look into it more seriously than I thought
they were going to." Her claim is compelling. Although Green allegedly
was assaulted about 30 years ago, her story has a credibility that
makes the first allegation seem plausible. To be sure, she'll pay a
huge price for coming forward. And if the charges are true, all of us
will pay a huge price, as well. We'll have lost another hero. And
Cosby's important role as moral mentor of the African-American
community will end. I don't blame Green for being outraged at the way
officials responded to the allegations against Cosby. The former Temple
official reported the assault to authorities last month, a year after
it allegedly occurred at Cosby's Elkins Park mansion. Already,
some right-wing conspiracy theorists are suggesting the claims are
designed to silence Cosby's laments about the failure of the African
American community to take responsibility for its plight. [more] and [more] How about taking a lie detecter test Cos? BAAAAAAAAAAAH!
