D.C. kids had better get used to getting indoors earlier.
Starting Wednesday, the city's curfew will start at 11 p.m. most
nights. Sundays through Thursdays, that's the witching hour for anyone
under 17. On Friday and Saturday nights, the curfew starts at a minute
past midnight. In all cases, it runs through six a.m. The midnight
deadline applies each night all summer, but it reverts to the earlier
time on school nights. The law requires anyone under 17 to be off the
streets and other outdoor public places during curfew hours. There are
exemptions for things like work, school and religious activities. [more ]
