In a potential boost to his Senate campaign and
black-voter turnout, U.S. Rep. Peter Deutsch won an endorsement Sunday
from veteran civil-rights leader and former presidential candidate the
Rev. Jesse Jackson. Deutsch criticized the "potential felon" list,
calling it "absolutely outrageous" and a sign that voting concerns
remain. He cited newspaper reports that Secretary of State Glenda Hood
knew about flaws with the felon list, yet went to court to fight for
it. "Glenda Hood knew about this stuff," he said. "They spent hundreds
of thousands of dollars trying to defend it." [more ]
