The surveillance video's clock reads 3:21 a.m.
when the first vandal hoists himself onto the pedestal, standing
toe-to-toe with the civil rights leader's image and spraying graffiti
on the statue's face and torso. The footage of the Martin Luther King
Jr. statue, released Friday, revealed little about the vandals'
identity or motives. Police cleaned up the graffiti two hours after it
was discovered the morning of Aug. 15. The vandals' faces are
indiscernible on the surveillance camera video, and the incident
remains under investigation. [more+see video ]
