Cynthia McKinney already won the Democratic nomination for her old
congressional seat. But on runoff election day, her office was abuzz
with campaign activity on behalf of U.S. Senate candidate Cliff Oxford.
Oxford was opposed by U.S. Rep. Denise Majette (D-Ga.), who ousted
McKinney in 2002 and handily defeated Oxford on Tuesday. McKinney said
she had absolutely nothing to do with Oxford supporters streaming in
and out of her office in a get-out-the-vote effort on his behalf. But

about his opposition to Majette. During an interview outside his
daughter's office, as many as 17 volunteers clad in Oxford T-shirts,
some of them turned inside-out, wandered the parking lot outside
McKinney's headquarters and walked in and out of the office. One
volunteer explained that they had to wear their T-shirts inside-out
when inside the office. "This is not revenge," Billy McKinney said to
explain his support for Oxford, a white, multi-millionaire from Cobb
County. "Denise Majette betrayed the community. She sold out to
Republicans. She is a Republican." [more]
