His comments indicate he's likely to appoint one of two African-Americans Gov. Jim Doyle said Monday that it would be a "good thing" if the first African-American was appointed to the state Supreme Court - another sign that the vacancy will likely go to one of two Milwaukee County Circuit Court judges,   Louis Butler or   Maxine White. Doyle told reporters that all three finalists - Butler, White and Dane County Circuit Court Judge   Angela Bartell - for the vacancy were "outstanding" candidates who would be "great justices."
