The New America as Conceived by Karl Rove - (Partisan Right Wing Freaks Wont Stop Until we are Living in the Dark )
Above all, says Gabler, "Unwavering discipline, demonization of foes,
disdain for reality and a personal sense of infallibility based on
faith are the stuff of a theocracy -- the president as pope or mullah
and policy as religious warfare...Boiled down, Rovism is government by
jihadis in the grip of unshakable self-righteousness -- ironically the
force the administration says it is fighting. It imposes rather than
proposes." Rove extends his bounds past other persons' attempts
to use the system or their attacks against it such as Nixons attempt to
merely get around it. Rove does more. He changes it into something out
of this, our accustomed world, into something more Middle Eastern -- a
theocracy in its very nature about which Gabler says, "We all have
reason to be very, very afraid." This would be crystallized in the
American people themselves. They can be numbed to reason because reason
is suspect when a theocracy says it is. A theocracy condemns the people
to any hell that the mullahs present to them as real. No more thinking.
No more doubting. American men will be told, not asked, not reasoned
with, not persuaded, but told what is in their best interests. They
will be informed of what job to do what words to use, or suffer
ostracism or impoverishment. Such things as football or golfing may be
allowed according to edict. [more]
