With less than two months before the Nov. 2 general
election, a recent poll about the U.S. Senate race in Georgia finds
Democrat U.S. Rep. Denise Majette closely following Republican U.S.
Rep. Johnny Isakson. According to the Global Strategy Group, Majette
polls 41 percent to Isakson's 46 percent. Among definite voters,
Majette trails 43 percent to 48 percent for Isakson. Isakson and
Majette enjoy overwhelming support from voters who identify with the
Republican and Democrat parties, respectively, with Isakson holding a
slight advantage among independent voters, according to the poll. Among
African American voters, Majette enjoys a lead of 79 percent to
Isakson's 9 percent. [more ]
