Black Man Shot to Death by Cops may have had his hands up
An autopsy report indicates that a man shot and
killed by San Francisco police last May might have had his hands up
during the shooting. Medical examiners say the victim may have
been surrendering when police shot him. Police say they shot Cammerin
Boyd last May during a high-speed chase in which he shot at them. But
Boyd's family says his hands were in the air when he was shot. The
autopsy shows the family's version of events is possible. The report
says, "One cannot exclude Boyd's hands were raised."Boyd's mother
called for charges to be brought against officers in a police
commission meeting Wednesday night. A civil rights watchdog group
called Bay Area PoliceWatch also released the report on Cammerin Boyd's
death Thursday. Moreover, a number of witnesses said Boyd was
surrendering at the time. The district attorney wants any further
results of the investigation withheld until prosecutors finish their
own probe.[more ] and [more ]
