When you opened with the connection between Iraq and al Qaeda and then, roughly two minutes later, denied making that connection, I was really impressed with the shamelessness of your Dark Empire ways. I hear your wife wrote an erotica novel, so, that's kinda hot. Repressed! But hot. The checkmate bitchslap of the debate: when Cheney tried to step to Edwards like a bratty nerd in school on some attendance beef (I'm not pointing any fingers but I haven't been playing "Where's Edwards?" for the past four years, I've been playing "Where in the World is Crawford, Texas?"), Edwards delivered a Colt-45-type right hook by sharing Cheney's record of voting against revered black heroes: against a day commemorating Martin Luther King, Jr. and against working to free Nelson Mandela! - Cheney Not Presiding Over the Senate Very Often. Vice President Cheney
led into his now discredited claim that he had never met Sen. Edwards
before debate night by saying, "Now, in my capacity as vice president,
I am the president of Senate, the presiding officer. I'm up in the
Senate most Tuesdays when they're in session." Actually, according to
congressional records compiled on Daily Kos, Cheney has "presided over
the Senate a grand total of two times the past four years." That's just
as many times as...John Edwards. In other news relating to things Cheney
said which have no basis in fact, Sen. Edwards's hometown paper, The
News & Observer, responded to the vice president's charge it had
"taken to calling [Edwards] Senator Gone." An archive search found "no

CNN yanks online poll favoring Edwards, deletes results, and replaces it Wednesday. Time Warner's Cable News Network abruptly yanked a poll
from the front page of their website Tuesday which was favoring
Democratic vice-presidential candidate John Edwards by more than a
three-to-one margin. They then replaced it in the 12 p.m EDT hour
today, completely eliminating all previous results. The original poll,
which asked simply, "Who do you think won the vice presidential
debate?" was replaced in the eleven o'clock p.m. hour Tuesday with "Did
the vice presidential debate help you decide which way you will vote?"
Wednesday, the original question was reinstated, but the results from
the original poll were discounted. Some 200,000 previous responses to
the poll were deleted when the new poll was posted. The previous poll
can be seen here where at press time 78 percent of the vote went to
Edwards, 18 percent for Cheney, and four percent declaring that the
contest had been a tie. The new poll has Cheney with nearly twice as
