Republican with ties to racist groups in Georgia DA runoff

A one-time follower of white supremacist J.B. Stoner who once expressed
admiration for Adolf Hitler has forced an Aug. 10 runoff election for
the top prosecutor's job in an eastern Georgia judicial circuit. Craig
Fraser, who says he has apologized for his anti-Semitic writings of the
past, led 16-year district attorney Ralph Walke in the July 20
Democratic primary for the prosecutor's job. Fraser had 42 percent of
the vote; Walke had 31 percent. A runoff was required because a third
candidate prevented either of them from winning a majority in the
primary. There is no Republican candidate in November.[more]
