Clear Channel Communications and an anti-war
advocacy group, Project Billboard, have settled a lawsuit over a
billboard advertisement that the Project Billboard sought to display in
Times Square, New York City. Project Billboard filed the suit Monday
after Clear Channel refused to put up an ad depicting a bomb with the
text, "Democracy is best taught by example, not by war." Billboard
called the move politically motivated, but Clear Channel said it only
objected to the bomb imagery. Under the settlement reached Thursday, a
revised ad depicting a peace dove will be used instead. [more] Pictured above: The first ad rejected by Clear Channel as too offensive. yawn [more]
