Agreement paves way for edited anti-war billboard

Clear Channel Communications and an anti-war advocacy group, Project Billboard, have settled a lawsuit over a billboard advertisement that the Project Billboard sought to display in Times Square, New York City. Project Billboard filed the suit Monday after Clear Channel refused to put up an ad depicting a bomb with the text, "Democracy is best taught by example, not by war." Billboard called the move politically motivated, but Clear Channel said it only objected to the bomb imagery. Under the settlement reached Thursday, a revised ad depicting a peace dove will be used instead. [more] Pictured above: The first ad rejected by Clear Channel as  too offensive. yawn [more]
