President Bush's efforts to reach out to black ministers -- principally
through White House aide Timothy Goeglein -- have so far failed to
parlay the clergy's faith in family values into faith in his presidency
as well. Likewise, the presence of African-Americans at the highest
levels of the executive branch doesn't appear to have impressed blacks
very much. A Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted in May suggests
that Bush continues to suffer a distinct lack of popularity among black
voters. According to the poll, Bush may get 6 percent of their ballots,
