U.S. Pipe settles Race Discrimination suit for $6.5 million

U.S. Pipe & Foundry will pay
$6.5 million and change work procedures in settling a lawsuit filed by
its black employees alleging discrimination on the job. The
Birmingham-based firm announced it has agreed to create a fairness
advisory council, to share job openings with all employees and to train
supervisors not to discriminate. [more]
