Florida Suit expanded to include more black students

A circuit judge granted class-action
status to a 2000 lawsuit charging Pinellas County schools with failing
to adequately educate black students, expanding the complaint to 21,000
current students and all black children who will attend the county's
public schools in the future. In his order, Pinellas-Pasco Circuit
Judge James Case wrote that the plaintiffs ``have cited an
overabundance of statistical evidence indicating that black students
are achieving far below white students in every category.'' [more]
