12 charged in Philadelphia corruption probe-Charges Unlikey for Mayor Street

Twelve people, including the city's former
treasurer and a high-profile lawyer, have been charged in connection
with a corruption case dealing with the city of Philadelphia's
financial transactions. According to the indictment, attorney Ronald
White corrupted then City Treasurer Corey Kemp by making payments and
giving other benefits to Kemp in exchange for Kemp following White's
directions regarding the employment of financial service companies to
carry out bond transactions. White faces 34 counts related to fraud,
extortion and making false statements to the FBI and Kemp faces 28
