Attention placed on reservation conditions
The San Carlos Apache Tribe in Arizona has such a
dire need for housing that under current funding levels the tribe would
take 125 years to fix the problem. The tribe needs 2,400 homes and 39
percent of the families there live in what is termed "substandard
housing," and forty percent in overcrowded conditions. [more]
