Thousands of people gathered in Ontario in
Southern California to protest recent Border Patrol sweeps taking place
in area cities. Tired and worried, protesters were marching to demand
respect for immigrant rights. An estimated 10 thousand people decried
the recent detention of Latino immigrants by Border Patrol agents in
Ontario, Corona, and other local cities. Despite intense heat,
protesters waving banners and flags undertook the four-hour march on
