This week, the Group of 8 countries, or the
"G-8," will be holding their annual meeting in Sea Island,
Georgia.
The significance
of this meeting should not be ignored. For nearly six
decades, the richest, most industrialized
countries of the world have met to set the global agenda for their
economic
hegemony. For too long these self-appointed "leaders of the world" have
ignored deteriorating economic conditions in developing countries. [more]
