Colorado Governor rejects study of state's graduation rates

Gov. Bill Owens killed legislation that
would have created a commission to study high school graduation rates
and whether Colorado is adequately preparing students for college.
Currently, Colorado ranks 35th nationwide in how many students finish
high school. Only 56 percent of African-American students graduate from
high school in Colorado. Among Hispanics, that number is 47 percent,
according to studies. [more]
