Pasteur Bizimungu , former President of Rwanda,
has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for embezzlement, inciting
violence and associating with criminals, but was cleared on a separate
charge of threatening state security. Human rights groups have
called the evidence against Bizimungu and his co-defendants
questionable and said that the charges were politically
