60% Latino City has no Latino Political Representation

NUMBERS DON'T REFLECT POPULATION IN CITY-
Even as Latinos in East Palo Alto  clamor for more representation in city  government, only three have put their names forward to be on the city's advisory commissions and boards. Wednesday night, the city  council  approved all three. The dearth of Latino applicants echoes  earlier  findings by community non-profits that Latinos have extremely low rates  of civicparticipation in East Palo Alto -- despite the fact that they  account for nearly 60 percent of the population, more than any  other Bay Area city.
